Emerging Managers & Technology
Building a living database of emerging real estate operators raising their hands for new and interesting technology
Tech companies that sell into real estate owners know that emerging managers—mid-market developers and investors who hold long-term—are often the best customers. Relative to many other real estate players, they care about optimizing operations, have budget, and are generally curious about new technology.
Emerging managers have enough scale to move the needle but not so much they get mired in years-long purchasing processes and pilots.
But for technology companies, finding these emerging managers is easier said than done. Small-to-midsized real estate sponsors don’t have CTOs or Heads of Innovation, and they generally don’t show up at Blueprint or RETCON. While they might have a need for what technology can do, they don’t have a lot of time, and learning about the newest and latest tool is typically a far lower priority than getting a new deal done (or saving an existing one).
So we’ve partnered with the Foundation for Innovation in Real Estate (FIRE) to build a list of emerging managers with interest in new technology. It’s a natural fit, as Thesis Driven maintains the largest database of active real estate developers while FIRE is focused on bringing new technology into real estate.
If you’d like to access the list of emerging managers, just go to the Thesis Driven database and filter by the “Emerging Manager” tag. Or get in touch with the Foundation for Innovation in Real Estate here to join their private group.
